SF gets the first regional logistics UAV operation license. Who will be next?

Recently, Fengniao technology, a large UAV company of Shunfeng, announced that it has obtained the approval letter and business license for the trial operation of the country's first regional logistics UAV issued by the Civil Aviation Administration, thus becoming the first enterprise in China to carry out the commercial trial operation of ton scale large-scale industrial load and long endurance regional logistics UAV under specific scenarios. Shunfeng's Fengniao technology was established in 2017. In December 2021, Fengniao technology finally passed the review of the Civil Aviation Administration, and was approved for the commercial trial operation of regional logistics UAV. After being approved, Fengniao technology award first carried out Branch Logistics and transportation services in Yulin and other places in Northwest China. According to the relevant contents of the business license released by Fengniao technology, the business scope of Fengniao technology includes not only general air cargo, but also aviation exploration, aerial photography, marine monitoring, fishery flight, air patrol and other businesses. In addition, on January 24, the test flight of Shunfeng's "certificate of merit" 560 aircraft at Ezhou Huahu airport was completed, which also marked the completion of the school flying subjects of Ezhou Huahu airport. The results of flight calibration show that all flight calibration subjects of Ezhou Huahu airport are qualified. In the field of terminal UAV delivery, Fengyi Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shunfeng, announced the completion of a round of financing of hundreds of millions of yuan at the end of November last year. It is reported that Fengyi technology focuses on the R & D and operation of terminal distribution logistics UAVs, and has successively carried out UAV logistics services in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, Western Sichuan, Jinshan, Dawan District, Shanghai and other places. By 2021, Fengyi technology UAV has operated nearly one million sorties safely. Whether it is a large manned transport aircraft or a terminal delivery UAV, or the high-profile commercial trial operation license of the country's first regional logistics UAV, has become the key to SF's construction of a three-stage air transport network. The industry also believes that SF's layout in the field of air transportation is far more than that of other domestic logistics enterprises. If large manned transport aircraft represent the past and present, the foothold of large UAVs in the field of freight represents the future of the logistics industry. Therefore, in recent years, the market layout of UAV logistics has become increasingly tight. Compared with traditional air transportation, UAV transportation has unique advantages. Especially in remote rural areas, UAV flight is not limited by the terrain on the traditional transportation route. At the same time, the flight route of UAV is shorter than the traditional road transportation line, which is suitable for emergency parts distribution. According to the analysis on the current market situation and development prospect of China's logistics UAV industry in 2021 released by the forward looking Industry Research Institute, at present, the domestic logistics UAV application is mainly in the express terminal distribution link in rural and remote areas, and is gradually expanding to large-scale warehouse internal management, medium and long-distance branch transportation and other scenarios. According to frost Sullivan, a consultancy, the global urban air logistics and transportation market is expected to reach US $46 billion in 2023, of which the Chinese market will reach US $20.7 billion, accounting for about 45%, and is expected to become the largest market in the world. In this market, Shunfeng, Jingdong, rookie, post, Zhongtong and Yunda are competing for layout. On January 25, when SF's "three-stage air transportation" became a hot topic in the industry, new news came from JD logistics's UAV project. According to the disclosure of JD logistics, the "Jingfei" self rotating rotor Branch Logistics UAV independently developed by JD logistics has recently carried out flight tests of relevant airworthiness subjects, including three heavyweight subjects: Highway takeoff, night flight and remote transfer. It is reported that the logistics UAV of "Jingfeng" autorotation rotor branch line has a maximum takeoff weight of 500 kg, a maximum commercial load of 120 kg, material distribution within a coverage radius of 450 km, short-range takeoff and landing capability, and does not rely on the airport runway. JD logistics pointed out that this means that JD logistics branch aviation logistics will be able to get rid of the restrictions of airports and runways, and can take off and land by relying on the temporary take-off and landing points around the warehouse to meet the rapid transportation needs of a large number of goods from the storage center to the sorting center, or from the sorting center to the distribution station. JD logistics also revealed that after obtaining the airworthiness license, it is expected to bring corresponding logistics services to villages and towns and rural areas in remote areas in the second half of this year. In addition to the logistics UAV of "jingling" autorotation rotor branch line, JD logistics also has a long-standing layout in the field of small UAVs at the end, and has participated in the transportation of rescue materials for many times in recent years. At the end of 2020, Jingdong jdy-800 "Jinghong" cargo type fixed wing UAV successfully carried out cargo inspection flight at Sichuan Zigong Fengming general airport, and achieved phased results in the logistics UAV test of Jingdong branch line.
