Developing new cultural and tourism formats by showcasing their strengths

2025-01-25

Adapting to local conditions and innovating the development of new cultural and tourism formats, we should launch tourism products and enrich product supply according to the personalized needs of different groups. Keeping pace with the times, consolidating the foundation of development, optimizing the development environment, enhancing development momentum, and striving to seize new opportunities brought by new business models. The Spring Festival holiday is approaching, and the cultural and tourism industry is also entering a significant period of development each year. While many people choose to return to their hometowns to celebrate the Chinese New Year and experience the strong New Year atmosphere and family ties, more and more people are also choosing to travel to distant places to experience different New Year customs and flavors. This is the trend and direction of the development of the cultural and tourism industry, and also indicates the opportunities for innovative development of the cultural and tourism industry in the future. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to cultivating new forms of cultural and tourism industries in various regions. While consolidating existing resources, efforts have been made to increase production, which serves as an important lever to promote the high-quality development of the tourism industry. For example, as a traditional tourism province, Yunnan Province has relied on the golden signboard of traditional tourism in the past two years to actively develop the tourism industry, deeply promote the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism in rural areas, and actively cultivate new forms of cultural and tourism. According to statistics, 3.8975 million people will travel to Yunnan in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 20.7%, and the measures taken to promote the development of the tourism industry have achieved significant results. Recently, the General Office of the State Council issued the "Several Measures on Further Cultivating New Growth Points for Prosperous Culture and Tourism Consumption", proposing a series of targeted measures, such as launching characteristic tourism products such as ice and snow tourism, cold escape and summer vacation, which will help further expand the supply of characteristic and high-quality products and promote innovative development of the cultural and tourism industry. Adapting to local conditions and innovating the development of new cultural and tourism formats, we should launch tourism products and enrich product supply according to the personalized needs of different groups. At present, there are relatively more general and popular cultural and tourism products, and there is still a lot of development space for new cultural and tourism formats developed for different groups. In the process of promoting the development of the tourism industry, Yunnan Province has proposed to actively cultivate vacation tourism, rural tourism, urban tourism, elderly care tourism, health and wellness tourism, cultural and artistic tourism, outdoor sports tourism, border happiness tourism and other formats according to local conditions, and shape the brands of "Yunnan Tourism" and "Homesick Yunnan". Pay attention to examining and exploring local resources from an innovative perspective. Some places may not have traditional and unique tourism resources, but they can also innovate and develop suitable new cultural and tourism formats. For example, in the process of developing the tourism industry, Yunnan Province has focused on exploring traditional rural resources and launched "new internet celebrities" like Tuguachong Village in Qujing City. The former Tuguachong Village, where villagers went out to work and old houses were left unused, was truly a hollow village. Through the introduction of resources, active transformation, exploration of rural characteristics, and relying on advantages such as climate and ecology, Tuguachong Village has become a well-known tourist village, attracting a large number of visitors and making the countryside more vibrant. It can be seen that tourism resources do not rely solely on natural endowments, and unique features may open up new opportunities. Pay attention to infrastructure construction and service guarantee. Undoubtedly, new business models will generate new demands for related supporting facilities and also put forward new requirements for various services. In the face of these new challenges, it is necessary to timely analyze the characteristics of new business formats, understand the expectations of tourists from all over the world, analyze the size and spatial distribution of passenger flow, make full use of internal and external resources, fill in the gaps, take proactive measures to adapt to the new situation, improve policy measures, enhance facility hardware and environmental software, and provide practical and effective convenient services to safeguard new development opportunities. The development of new cultural and tourism formats tailored to local conditions is a dynamic process, and each should showcase its strengths. It is difficult for one place to "attract fresh food all over the world". The various aspects and links centered on this cannot be achieved overnight or permanently. We should keep up with the times, not avoid the problems encountered, consolidate the development foundation, optimize the development environment, enhance development momentum, strive to seize the new opportunities brought by new formats, and thus form new economic growth points and development spaces.
