Li Meihua, Director of a Research Institute of the Naval Academy: Youth is the Pen, Love is the Ink

A hurried whistle echoed through the quiet dormitory building, and as I woke up from my sleep, I immediately entered 'combat mode'. I dressed, washed, and organized my household affairs in one go. I habitually raised my hand and looked at my watch, but it was not yet 6 o'clock. My gaze fell on the briefcase by the bedside with the wisps of sunlight passing through the window, and I realized that despite the flow of time and space, there were always scenes circulating in my mind, and there was always a stream of heat surging in my chest. In March of this year, we launched a 2-month initial training program. The first round of rigorous queue training greeted us with a slight retraction of the chin, no eye contact with the ground, and no hand movement. At the beginning, I still had a lucky mentality, silently reciting "Can't see me, can't see me" in my heart, but I was always targeted by the instructor due to a subtle "bubbling" action, ushering in a 5-kilometer race where I said I wanted to run. During the queue training, the instructor told us, "Put on this camouflage and this pair of boots, you need to show what military personnel should look like!" During the roll call, the team leader commented, "Where does combat power come from? It comes from our queue, internal affairs, and discipline!" Gradually, we got used to this strong and resolute behavior mode, and began to "fight" with each detail. The clear lines on our arms that have been sunburned have become the best annotation of our life transformation experiences. Everything changes, starting from feeling the interweaving of iron blood and tenderness, and starting from experiencing the love in the bottom of my heart - loving this army and the cause we strive for. Because of love, so loyalty. Once, the training team organized us to watch the movie "The Flower wreath Under the High Mountain". There was a detail in the film: Jin Kaikai, who had shaved his head, took a sip of wine and said, "See you at the Martyrs' Cemetery." The tense atmosphere of war that was about to erupt instantly spread. After watching the movie, I called to ask my father, who had been in the military, why he had to shave his head at that time. My father told me, "Shaving the head is for the convenience of dressing up after being injured, which means being prepared for bloodshed and sacrifice." I realized that it was this determination to never retreat and live towards death that allowed the revolutionary predecessors to guard the peace of billions of compatriots with a pure heart. Because of love, take responsibility. During the training, I met many excellent comrades who demonstrated their strengths and contributed to various activities. The sense of crisis and urgency often makes me ponder: Where are my strengths? What can I do for this group? During a tactical training session, I found it difficult to master the essentials of crawling movements, so I proactively increased my skills. After putting in a lot of effort, it goes without saying the pain and suffering, but I was ultimately selected as a representative to participate in the concentrated exhibition, winning honors for our student team. As a result, I found a breakthrough point that can contribute to the "glimmer of light" - since then, I often bring my weaker comrades to work out and clock in, and also cooperate with the class leader to organize queue training. At the graduation ceremony, I was awarded the title of "Military Sports Star". When accepting honors, I feel that this mentality of 'wanting to do something' is also a manifestation of the spirit of responsibility. Because of love, so invest. The historical law is that the waves behind the Yangtze River push the waves ahead, and the responsibility of youth is that each generation is stronger than the other. After the training, I will embark on a new journey. What should I do in my future work? What shortcomings need to be addressed? How to sprinkle the sweat of youth, showcase the power of youth, and
