On May 27th, the China ASEAN Forum on Civilization Exchange and Cooperation was held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The theme of this forum is "New Opportunities for Civilization Exchange and Cooperation between China and ASEAN". More than 300 people, including officials from the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, representatives from the Malaysian Ministry of Education, ambassadors to Malaysia, and well-known writers, scholars, and publishers from China and Malaysia, participated in the forum. Participants in the forum agreed that this year marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of a closer China ASEAN community of shared future and the launch of the "the Belt and Road" initiative. China and ASEAN countries jointly use culture as a link and books as a bridge to carry out comprehensive and wide-ranging bilateral and multilateral publishing exchanges and cooperation, showcasing the unique and diverse cultures of both sides, deepening cultural exchanges and mutual learning, and promoting people-to-people communication. The forum proposes to implement the Global Civilization Initiative, strengthen publishing exchange and cooperation between China and ASEAN, respect the diversity of world civilizations, and work together to create a good atmosphere of harmonious coexistence among civilizations of all countries; Adhering to the concept of openness and inclusiveness, working together to improve the long-term mechanism of dialogue and exchange among civilizations of various countries; Adhere to the principle of joint consultation, construction, and sharing, and work together to build a mutually beneficial and win-win international cooperation platform; Open up new paths for interpersonal communication and work together to promote mutual understanding and affinity among people of all countries.
