A "meta film" about filmmakers, "chasing light for thousands of miles", will be released nationwide from the 9th. Experts believe that the film shows from one side the struggling spirit of Chinese filmmakers and the development process of Chinese films "going global" over the past hundred years. Based on historical materials such as diaries, letters and private collections, the documentary film "chasing light for thousands of miles" presents the life footprints and artistic past of many Chinese filmmakers such as Cai Chusheng and Bruce Lee from the perspective of actor Lu Yan, who is more than 90 years old. It also shows the long road from the beginning to the continuous development of Chinese films and reflects the colorful charm of Chinese culture. At an expert seminar held in Beijing a few days ago, Yu Hong, a professor at the school of Journalism and communication of Peking University, said that "chasing light for thousands of miles" has important historical archival value: "the film tells about some important filmmakers in the history of Chinese films and Chinese films. Today's audience can also understand the history of Chinese films more clearly through the film." (Li Xinshe)
