Launch Symposium on the Integration of Research on Kunlun Culture in China

On August 20th, the launch symposium of "Research Integration of Chinese Kunlun Culture" and the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between the School of Literature and Arts of Shihezi University and the Academy Press were held at the Higher Institute of Humanities, Peking University. This event is jointly organized by the School of Literature and Art at Shihezi University (Xinjiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center) and the Academy Press. At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Wu Xinfeng, Vice Dean of the School of Literature and Arts at Shihezi University and Editor in Chief of the "Integrated Study of Chinese Kunlun Culture", gave an overall introduction to the compilation and publication of the series. He pointed out that Kunlun culture is an important component of the shared spiritual home of the Chinese nation, and research on Kunlun culture plays a prominent role in inheriting and promoting excellent traditional Chinese culture. Since 2009, Shihezi University has focused on Kunlun culture and the myth of Queen Mother of the West, gathering the wisdom of scholars and experts from all over the country. It has carried out multi-faceted cooperation and research with multiple units such as the Chinese Folklore Society and the Xinjiang Tianchi Management Committee, and has achieved fruitful results and accumulated valuable experience in the field of Kunlun culture research. Hong Wenxiong, the president of Xueyuan Publishing House, stated that the compilation and publication of the series should accurately locate the source and root of Kunlun culture, comprehensively grasp the development trajectory of Kunlun culture, and deeply interpret the contemporary value of Kunlun culture. He pointed out that Xueyuan Publishing House is sponsored by the Central Committee of the 93 Society, and has been deeply involved in the rescue, protection, organization, and utilization of excellent traditional Chinese culture for more than 30 years. It will fully utilize its editing and publishing resources and experience to provide professional support for the publication of series books. Subsequently, the executive editor of "Research Integration of Chinese Kunlun Culture" introduced the content structure and compilation style of the ten volume series, and the editors of each sub volume introduced the content characteristics, compilation ideas, and work progress of each sub volume. The representative of the academic advisory team of "Research Integration of Kunlun Culture in China" put forward suggestions and opinions on the compilation and publication work. At the end of the meeting, the School of Literature and Arts at Shihezi University and the Academy Press officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Both sides will fully leverage their respective resource advantages and engage in in-depth cooperation in cultural publishing such as "Research Integration of Chinese Kunlun Culture", Xinjiang Intangible Cultural Heritage, Xinjiang Culture and Art, and Xinjiang Historical Archaeology. It is reported that the "Collection of Research on Kunlun Culture in China" series starts with volumes of Kunlun historical materials and modern research achievements, including historical and geographical literature, poetry, prose, archaeology, images, folk literature, academic papers, local chronicles, jade culture, etc., aiming to provide the academic community with an authoritative and comprehensive reference book for Kunlun culture.
