With the IPization of online literature in China, online literature has integrated various forms including film and television, animation, games, etc. to "go global", and the influence of diverse content forms has been amplified and sought after by young people abroad. The "2023 Special Report on the Development of Chinese Online Literature" released by the China Audio Video and Digital Publishing Association shows that in 2023, the total scale of China's online literature industry "going global" will maintain a growth trend, with overseas market revenue reaching 4.35 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth rate of 7.06%. In 2023, the total number of Chinese online literature works (including original works on online literature platforms) going abroad will be about 695800, a year-on-year increase of 29.02%. Recently, at the 7th China "Online Literature+" Conference Overseas Exchange Sub Forum, experts, scholars, online writers, and online literature enterprises shared their experiences in "one click overseas" and global IP development, exploring the content, form, and path of online literature "going global". Online literature has the characteristics of sharing, immediacy, and interaction, and is one of the most suitable cultural forms for international dissemination. Zhu Gang, Deputy Director of the Network Literature Center of the Chinese Writers Association, stated that by 2023, the overseas dissemination market for online literature will exceed 4 billion yuan, with nearly 200 million active users overseas. Among them, "Generation Z" accounts for 80%, covering most countries and regions around the world. As a new generation of online writers, Tong Tong has many young fans overseas. Tong Tong said, "In the eyes of young people abroad, China is a mysterious ancient country in the East. They want to learn about China and what Chinese young people are doing through online literature. In recent years, the operation mode and narrative techniques of Chinese online literature have been widely borrowed, promoting the formation of overseas original ecology. Zhu Gang said that by the end of 2023, nearly one million local overseas writers will be trained on various overseas platforms, with "Generation Z" as the main contracted authors, creating over 1.5 million original works overseas. Yao Jianbin, director of the Overseas Communication Research Center for Chinese Literature at Beijing Normal University, stated that online literature has become an effective window and channel for overseas youth to understand China. Online literature can make overseas youth feel the vibrant and energetic image of China. The content, form, and path of online literature 'going global' are becoming increasingly rich, which cannot be separated from the promotion of AI. Chen Dingjia, a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, stated that the application of AI technology has brought revolutionary changes to the creation, editing, translation, and promotion of online literature, and is promoting the large-scale "going global" of online literature, making "one click going global" possible. How to spread the content of Chinese culture that can only be understood but not expressed? Wu Xuemei, the head of the overseas reading business of Yuewen Group, said that Yuewen Group is focusing on building a database of online literature terms. By adding annotations and image explanations to some proprietary terms, it aims to express them more accurately to overseas users and help them better understand the Chinese culture behind online literature. As an editorial board member of the "China Online Literature Yearbook (2023)", Xu Yaoming, Executive Vice Dean of the Institute of Online Literature at Central South University, stated that in 2023, Chinese online literature will continue to demonstrate strong vitality and extensive influence overseas. Many Chinese online literature works have been translated into multiple languages, not only maintaining their original content, but also emphasizing the transmission of cultural background in the translation process, enhancing overseas readers' understanding of Chinese culture. More and more overseas readers are learning about traditional Chinese culture and the contemporary style of China through reading Chinese online articles. (New Society)
