Guangdong: Supporting Huizhou in Building a Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Power Hub

The Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Guangdong Provincial People's Government have issued the "Opinions on Supporting Huizhou to Accelerate the Construction of a Green and Low Carbon Industrial System and Build a New Growth Pole for Guangdong's High Quality Development", which proposes to enhance the level of the Clean Energy Center in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Support the implementation of clean energy substitution for existing self owned coal-fired units in Huizhou, and encourage the conversion to public use units. Encourage enterprises to prioritize the use of public electricity, centralized heating, and natural gas, expand the proportion of electrified terminal energy usage, and gradually reduce the proportion of coal consumption. Support the growth of the clean energy industry, promote the integration of wind, solar, nuclear, and gas (storage), and promote the complementary development of multiple energy sources. Promote the construction of clean energy projects such as nuclear power, offshore wind power, pumped storage power stations, and natural gas power generation. Research and construct the Huizhou LNG receiving station storage tank expansion project. Promote the transmission of electricity from the west to the east, enhance the output capacity of clean energy, orderly promote the construction of a new power load management system, and support the construction of Huizhou as a power hub in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Strengthen the construction of demand side response capacity for electricity and vigorously improve the elasticity of electricity load. Strengthen the construction of storage and transportation facilities and oil and gas pipelines, and improve the capacity of intensive oil and gas transportation. Support Huizhou to deepen cooperation with international energy enterprises, strengthen the supply of productive raw materials and energy import and export capabilities, and build an international petrochemical and oil storage and transportation trading base. Encourage power users to sign green power trading contracts with new energy enterprises and expand the scale of green power trading. (Lai Xin She)
