The 16th Macau Youth National Knowledge Competition held a press conference and preliminary award ceremony on the 16th. This competition has attracted a total of 32 schools, nearly 15000 college and high school students to participate, setting a new record for the number of participants in previous years. According to the organizers, the final and award ceremony will be held on June 6th. At that time, 32 high school and university teams will compete for the championship, runner up, and third place in the high school and university groups of this competition. Wang Haitao, President of the National Education (Macau) Association, the organizer, delivered a speech stating that the competition helps promote the understanding of national development strategies and other national knowledge among Macau youth, enhance their sense of belonging and identity with the country, and cultivate outstanding talents with patriotism. The competition is organized by the National Education (Macau) Association, guided by the Education and Youth Work Department of the Macau Liaison Office, the News and Public Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macau, and supported by the Environmental Protection Bureau, Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region Government, and the Macau Chinese Education Association. Since the event was held, the total number of participating students has exceeded 130000, fully reflecting the importance that various sectors of Macau society attach to national education for young people.
