On the afternoon of the 16th, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, held talks with the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, Alami, at the Great Hall of the People.
Zhao Leji stated that China and Morocco are good friends and partners.   The Chinese side is willing to work with the Moroccan side to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning, enhance collective cooperation between China, Afghanistan and China Africa, and promote greater development of bilateral relations.
The two sides should strengthen the docking of development strategies, deepen cooperation in jointly building the "the Belt and Road", and promote the upgrading of practical cooperation. Expand exchanges in cultural, educational, tourism, medical and health fields, and promote people to people communication. China is willing to work hand in hand with Arab countries, including Morocco, to fully build a China Arab community with a shared future for the new era. Welcome Morocco to actively participate in the summit of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation held this autumn, and jointly build a high-level community with a shared future between China and Africa.
Zhao Leji emphasized that the National People's Congress of China is willing to continue to maintain the momentum of high-level visits with the Moroccan parliament, deepen friendly exchanges between specialized committees, bilateral friendship groups, working institutions, NPC deputies and members of parliament, learn from each other's legislative and supervisory experiences, and timely approve legal documents that are conducive to practical cooperation. Promote exchanges in political parties, local areas, and cultural fields, and consolidate the social and public opinion foundation of China Morocco friendship. Closely coordinate and cooperate in multilateral mechanisms such as the Inter Parliamentary Union and the Arab Parliament to jointly safeguard the interests of both countries and developing countries.
Zhao Leji introduced the relevant situation of the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. He stated that both China and Morocco are ancient civilizations with a long history and have chosen development paths that are in line with their own national conditions. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen the exchange of governance experience with the Moroccan side, and better serve the economic and social development of their respective countries.
Alami stated that China has a long and splendid civilization. Morocco values its strong strategic partnership with China and admires the tremendous development achievements made by the Chinese people. Morocco adheres to the One China principle and firmly supports China in safeguarding sovereignty and territorial integrity. The House of Representatives is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with the National People's Congress of China and contribute to promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields such as economy and culture between the two countries.
