In an exclusive interview with Xinhua News Agency reporters in Kuala Lumpur a few days ago, Malaysian Minister of Transport Lu Zhaofu said that the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" is a win-win cooperation, looking forward to the future joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" to help Malaysia's economic and social development to a new level. Lu Zhaofu said that the initiative of jointly building the "the Belt and Road" is widely welcomed and can change the fate of developing countries around the world. "China and the countries jointly building the the Belt and Road both emphasize win-win results." Lu Zhaofu said that each country's geographical environment, economic development, political system, etc. are different, and 10 years after the the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward, China has been promoting cooperation with an open attitude, which is very commendable. Lu Zhaofu said that taking the Malaysia East Coast Railway (hereinafter referred to as "Malaysia East Railway") project as an example, in order to better promote Malaysia's economic development, Malaysia and China have had multiple discussions. When we face some problems, we can discuss and solve them again, which I think is very precious. "Lu Zhaofu believes that the Ma Dong Railway project will not only bring cooperation in the railway field, but also promote local industrial development and talent cultivation. He hopes that this project will bring more investment to the local area in the future, build more industrial parks along the railway, develop high value-added industries, cultivate more local railway talents, meet the development needs of more railway projects, and extend the success story of jointly building the "the Belt and Road" to the next decade. In October, Lu Zhaofu went to China to attend the third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum. During his visit to China, he also visited multiple places in China to exchange ideas with representatives of Chinese enterprises in the transportation industry and explore strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of ocean shipping and train manufacturing. In March of this year, COSCO Shipping (Malaysia) Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Malaya Railway Company to initiate sea rail intermodal cooperation. Lu Zhaofu told reporters that Malaysia has high-quality port resources. After sea freight is landed, it can be transported northward to Thailand, Laos, and China through the railway system. It can also reach Europe through the China Europe train. The potential for sea rail intermodal transportation is enormous, and he looks forward to seeing greater development in this area. Lu Zhaofu said that the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" project has been welcomed by local governments and people in many countries, and Indonesia's Yavan high-speed railway is a good example. He said that Malaysia hopes to maintain long-term friendly and cooperative relations with China and achieve common development by jointly building the "the Belt and Road". (New News Agency)
