Weixian County, Hebei Province: Establishing a Public Welfare Training Class to Inherit "Intangible Cultural Heritage"

On September 19th, Shi Jinghua, the inheritor of Chaotan in Weixian County, taught Chaotan Quyi at Baiguoshu Central Primary School. Shi Jinghua, 58 years old this year, is from Fengzhuang Village, Guxian Town, Weixian County, Hebei Province. As a provincial-level inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage of Weixian Luan Dan, she has been committed to the protection, inheritance, and development of Luan Dan art for many years. Since 2017, Shi Jinghua has opened a public welfare training course on random bullets in Weixian County, teaching students the skills of random bullets for free. Weixian Luan Tan is a multi tone drama genre that originated in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and was mainly popular in the area of Weixian, Hebei Province. Due to its long history, unique vocal style, rich repertoire, and rough performance, it is known as the "living fossil" of opera research. In 2008, Weixian Luanqiang was listed as a representative project of national intangible cultural heritage. (New News Agency)
