On the 22nd, the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar held a farewell ceremony in Antananarivo for 27 Madagascar students who received Chinese government scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year. These students will go to 23 universities in China to pursue professional degrees in language and literature, economics and finance, computer engineering, medicine, agriculture, and other fields. At the farewell ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Madagascar, Guo Xiaomei, encouraged students to face the challenges of studying abroad with a positive attitude, work hard to ensure success in their studies, abide by school rules and regulations with integrity, understand China and Chinese culture with an open spirit, and be good ambassadors of friendship between the two countries. The Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in Madagascar, Heiriniana Ramanankiena, stated that the cooperation in the field of education between Malaysia and China has yielded rich results. Not only has the Confucius Institute been established to provide various hardware support such as teaching facilities and equipment for Madagascar, but it has also collaborated to cultivate many talents, including students, teachers, and researchers, providing important support for the development of Madagascar. It is understood that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia in 1972, nearly 800 Malagasy students have received Chinese government scholarships to further their studies in China.
