How can micro/nano quantum satellite further strengthen the application of quantum secure communication? Here comes the interpretation

Quantum technology is one of the focal points of global high-tech competition and a strategic field related to national security and high-quality socio-economic development. When it comes to quantum technology, many people first think of Mozi. In August 2016, Mozi, the world's first Quantum Experiments at Space Scale, was successfully launched and successfully completed the set scientific goals, laying China's leading position in the field of quantum communication. Now, at the Institute of Quantum Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, scientists are conducting further research on micro/nano quantum satellites. Compared with Mozi, how will micro/nano quantum satellite further strengthen the application of quantum secure communication? Pan Jianwei, an academician of the CAS Member and executive vice president of the University of Science and Technology of China, made research progress on the micro nano quantum satellite "Jinan 1": last July, we successfully launched the world's first micro nano quantum satellite. So after nearly a year of effort from July last year to now, we have recently confirmed through experiments that the cost of this micro/nano satellite is only one twentieth of that of Mozi, but it can also perform quantum experiments on stars and Earth very well. We will release relevant scientific research results to our global peers in the near future. There are at least two huge obstacles that need to be overcome before the series of scientific research achievements made by the Mozi spacecraft can be put into practical application. One is to reduce satellite launch costs by reducing weight, and the other is to overcome the interference of sunlight during the day, changing from working only at night to working all day. Today, the micro nano quantum satellite "Jinan 1" has crossed the first obstacle. Li Yang, associate professor of the University of Science and Technology of China: After about three years, we developed the world's first quantum micro nano satellite, which weighs about 96 kilograms. Compared with our previous Mozi, the satellite's weight, including satellite weight and load weight, has been reduced to about 1/6 of the original. However, there are unimaginable difficulties in eliminating interference from sunlight. Quantum communication takes a single photon as the carrier, and the energy of a single photon is weak enough to be equivalent to a match struck on the moon from the earth. The dark night provides a favorable environment for capturing single photons. During the day, when the sun shines, the photons emitted by satellites are annihilated, like a drop of rainwater falling into the sea. To this end, the quantum communication team led by Pan Jianwei started from every factor that affects the sending and receiving of photon heaven and earth, and made every index meet the technical requirements one by one through countless experiments. The research team has undergone over a year of adjustment and verification, and the anti solar interference technology has completed all ground experiments. The team members are confidently waiting for the next satellite to be launched for inspection. Quantum computing has made new breakthroughs. In addition to communication, computing is also a major field in the application of quantum technology. With the arrival of the era of Big data, the global data volume is growing exponentially, and there is a huge demand for computing power. At present, the global technology community has turned its attention to quantum computing to seize the technological high ground. Just a few days ago, the scientific research team led by Pan Jianwei, academician of the CAS Member, broke the record of the number of true entangled bits in the quantum system from 24 to 51. What is the special significance of the growth of this number from 24 to 51? Number of quantum entangled state preparations
