Construction of Huangmaohai Cross Sea Passage "Shangxin"

2023-07-06

On July 5th, Guangdong Transportation Group announced that after 36 hours of hard work day and night, at 9:00 pm on the same day, the control project of the Huangmaohai Cross Sea Channel project - the transition pier and auxiliary pier on the west side of the Huangmaohai Bridge - were successfully poured, marking the completion of all 23 full width TY type bridge piers in the project. This is also the first application of full width TY type bridge piers in highway bridges in China. The auxiliary piers and transition piers of Huangmaohai Bridge and Gaolan Minato Bridge, as well as the piers of the middle approach bridge, all adopt the integral TY type piers, with the maximum height of 60 meters and the cap beam length of 37.4 meters, which are relatively rare in the field of bridge construction. Compared to the segmented pier, the use of the full width TY type pier not only reduces the number of pile foundations and pier bodies, significantly improves the anti ship collision ability of the pier, but also maintains the same design style as the 'small waist on the sea' main tower, achieving a beautiful and stable effect. "Zhu Chao, Chief Engineer of Huangmaohai Cross Sea Channel Management Center, introduced. At present, the Huangmaohai Cross Sea Passage has opened a new chapter in the construction of the upper structure of the main bridge, and it is expected to complete the closure of the steel box girder of the main bridge by April 2024. The Xiangshan Tunnel has been excavated for a total of 3150 meters, accounting for approximately 97.52% of the total design length. It is expected to be completed in August this year and the project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2024. (New News Agency)
