Chinese Navy's 43rd Escort Fleet Visits Cote d'Ivoire

The 43rd escort fleet of the Chinese Navy arrived in Abidjan, the economic capital of C ô te d'Ivoire, on the 22nd to begin a 4-day friendly visit to C ô te d'Ivoire. The day of arrival is Dragon Boat Festival. At 8:30 am, a fleet of ships flying the flags of China and Kuwait entered the Abidjan port area. More than 200 people, including Wu Jie, the Chinese Ambassador to Cote d'Ivoire, staff of embassies and consulates, local Chinese funded institutions, representatives of Overseas Chinese, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ivorian Navy, and some officers and soldiers, met at the Abidjan Port wharf. People waved five-star red flags and raised banners to warmly welcome the arrival of the formation. Formation commander Zhao Lang delivered a speech at the welcome ceremony, stating that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kuwait 40 years ago, the relationship has always been healthy and stable. China will continue to deepen military exchanges and strengthen maritime security cooperation with the Kuwaiti side, and jointly maintain regional peace and stability. The local martial arts club of Kefang performed martial arts and lion awakening performances at the welcome ceremony. After the ceremony, officials and welcome personnel from China and Kuwait boarded the ship in batches to visit. During my visit to C ô te d'Ivoire, the commander of my formation met with Major General Justan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ivorian Army, Major General Celestan, Chief of Staff of the Navy, and Major Colonel Kofi, Commander of Abidjan Port, and made donations and condolences to local schools. The officers and soldiers of the formation visited the Ivorian naval base, shipyard, battle command center and inshore Patrol boat, and participated in the welcome reception organized by the Ivorian navy.
