The 43rd escort fleet of the Chinese Navy arrived in Abidjan, the economic capital of C ô te d'Ivoire, on the 22nd to begin a 4-day friendly visit to C ô te d'Ivoire. The day of arrival is Dragon Boat Festival. At 8:30 am, a fleet of ships flying the flags of China and Kuwait entered the Abidjan port area. More than 200 people, including Wu Jie, the Chinese Ambassador to Cote d'Ivoire, staff of embassies and consulates, local Chinese funded institutions, representatives of Overseas Chinese, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ivorian Navy, and some officers and soldiers, met at the Abidjan Port wharf. People waved five-star red flags and raised banners to warmly welcome the arrival of the formation. Formation commander Zhao Lang delivered a speech at the welcome ceremony, stating that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kuwait 40 years ago, the relationship has always been healthy and stable. China will continue to deepen military exchanges and strengthen maritime security cooperation with the Kuwaiti side, and jointly maintain regional peace and stability.
