According to the report, Guangdong's total marine economy has ranked first in the country for 28 consecutive years. According to preliminary calculations, the total marine production value of Guangdong in 2022 was 1.8 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%, accounting for 14% of the regional GDP and 19% of the national marine production value. The report points out that in 2022, the growth rate of Guangdong's marine GDP was 1.84 percentage points higher than the regional GDP growth rate, and the contribution rate of the marine economy to regional economic growth reached 20.9%, driving 0.74 percentage points of regional economic growth. ——The marine industry structure continues to be optimized. In 2022, the structural ratio of Guangdong's marine tertiary industry was 3.0:31.9:65.1, with a year-on-year decrease of 0.1 percentage points in the proportion of the marine primary industry, a year-on-year increase of 2.6 percentage points in the proportion of the marine secondary industry, and a year-on-year decrease of 2.5 percentage points in the proportion of the marine tertiary industry. ——New achievements have been made in the development of the real economy. The added value of the marine manufacturing industry is 441.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%, and its contribution to the development of the marine economy continues to strengthen. ——The emerging marine industries are developing rapidly. The added value of the industry is 21.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%, and its proportion in the added value of the marine industry has increased to 3.3%. ——Abundant achievements in marine technology innovation. In 2022, the province has disclosed 19375 patents in the fields of marine fisheries, marine renewable energy, marine oil and gas, minerals, and marine pharmaceuticals. In 2022, the provincial-level special fund for promoting high-quality economic development (marine economic development) will amount to 295 million yuan, supporting key core technology breakthroughs in 36 projects, including marine electronic information, offshore wind power, marine engineering equipment, marine biology, natural gas hydrates, and marine public services. In terms of marine ecological construction, as of the end of 2022, there are a total of 87 marine nature reserves at all levels in Guangdong Province, with a protected area of 4950 hectares. Among them, 7 national marine nature reserves have been approved for establishment; Build 6 national marine parks, ranking first in both quantity and area in the country. Since the implementation of the "Special Action Plan for Mangrove Protection and Restoration (2020-2025)", by the end of 2022, 1219 hectares of newly constructed mangroves and 321.6 hectares of restored mangroves have been established in the province.
