Ram Chandra Baodel was elected as the new President of Nepal

Ram Chandra Baodel, leader of the Nepalese Congress Party, won the presidential election held on the 9th, becoming the third president since the establishment of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal in 2008. The spokesman of the Nepal Election Commission told the Xinhua News Agency that Ram Chandra Baoder defeated his opponent, Subash Chandra Nemwang, Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist-Leninist), and was elected president. Members of the two chambers of the Nepalese Federal Parliament and seven provincial assemblies took part in the presidential election. Baodel and Nemwan won more than 33000 and 15000 votes respectively. Baodel will be sworn in on the 13th of this month for a term of five years. (Xinhua News Agency)
