G20 Calls for Strengthening Cooperation to Meet Challenges Together

The two-day G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting closed in New Delhi, the capital of India, on the 2nd. The meeting issued the President's summary and outcome document, calling for strengthening cooperation and multilateralism to jointly address global challenges. The document stressed that the world today faces many challenges, including slow progress in achieving the United Nations sustainable development goals, climate change, pollution, economic slowdown, debt distress, uneven post-epidemic recovery, increased poverty and inequality, threats to food and energy security, disruption of the global supply chain, and increased geopolitical tensions and conflicts. India is the rotating presidency of the G20 this year. Indian Prime Minister Modi delivered a video speech to the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the 2nd, saying that the world expects the G20 to meet the challenges of growth, development, economic flexibility, financial stability, food and energy security, and ease the current geopolitical tension.
