The 15 original McDonald's restaurants in Russia were renamed "just delicious" on the 12th and reopened. Oleg paroyev, general manager of the chain restaurant, announced the new brand name at the press conference on the same day. He also revealed that after the opening of the first 15 stores, another 50 stores will open on the 13th, and about 200 stores will open by the end of this month. "Next, we plan to open 50 to 100 stores a week and gradually expand to the whole country.". Among the first batch of stores opened, the stores located in Pushkin square in the center of the capital Moscow have attracted much attention. It was the first store set up by McDonald's after it entered the Russian market more than 30 years ago. At about 10 a.m. that day, people began to queue up, and there were still two hours before the new store opened. Just after 12 noon, the store and the streets were already crowded. Under the scorching sun, many customers are counting down loudly, expecting the restaurant to be officially opened. The reporter observed that the store has not been redecorated, but all elements related to McDonald's have been removed from the packaging paper bags, napkins, drink cups and other items. The new brand logo of the restaurant is displayed on the billboard outside the store: a red circle and two orange lines on the green background represent a hamburger and two French fries. A slogan was written on the glass curtain wall on the roof of the store: "although the name has changed, love remains the same". "We've heard about the reopening for a long time. Today, we made a special trip to experience it. We waited for 40 minutes." Veronica and Andre, two college students who live in the north of Moscow, told reporters. Vladimir, a 43 year old Moscow citizen, shared his consumption experience with reporters: "I bought a double-layer cheese beef hamburger, a large French fries and a coke. The taste of hamburgers and French fries is the same as before, and the price has not changed much." Paloev said at the press conference that "it is delicious" plans to fully localize the production of all necessary products. "In the next step, we will look for alternatives for some imported raw materials to ensure that all consumer needs are met." McDonald's entered Russia in january1990 and has about 850 stores in Russia. On March 14, McDonald's announced that it would suspend its business in Russia because of "difficulties in operation, technology and logistics". On May 16, the American fast food chain giant, which accounts for 7% of the Russian catering market, announced its withdrawal from Russia. Subsequently, Russian franchisee alexandergovor signed an agreement with McDonald's to take over McDonald's business in Russia. "We want to satisfy our customers in terms of taste and service." Paloev said that the new stores may fine tune the prices of meals in the future, but will still maintain "affordable prices". (Xinhua News Agency)
