Recently, Boeing company of the United States released the photos of the new generation p-8a "Poseidon" maritime anti submarine patrol aircraft in South Korea, and its deployment and loading have aroused concern again. Photos of South Korea's new generation p-8a Poseidon maritime anti submarine patrol aircraft released by Boeing of the United States. The delivery train is ready According to South Korea's news agency, the p-8a fuselage in the photo is painted with Tai Chi pattern and the words "Navy", and the tail is painted with the black eagle pattern symbolizing the 61st maritime patrol aircraft battle team of the South Korean navy. It is reported that in order to deploy the p-8a, South Korea has established the 617th flight brigade of the 61st maritime patrol aircraft regiment subordinate to the 6th aviation regiment of the Navy. According to the report, in 2018, the South Korean Navy selected the U.S. p-8a as the new generation of maritime patrol aircraft, and spent about $2.1 billion to purchase six. From the second half of this year to 2023, the six anti submarine patrol aircraft will be delivered one after another. By then, the number of maritime patrol aircraft installed by the South Korean navy will increase to 22, including 8 P-3C and 8 p-3ck. Some analysts believe that six p-8as may be deployed to the eastern, southern and western waters of South Korea respectively, so as to build an all-round observation and fighting integrated force. Uneasy or peripheral South Korean SBS television reported that compared with the existing P-3 anti submarine patrol aircraft of the South Korean navy, the p-8a is better in flight speed, detection distance, detection accuracy and attack capability. In terms of basic parameters, the p-8a has a length of 39.47 meters, a wingspan of 37.64 meters, a height of 12.83 meters, an empty weight of 62.73 tons and a maximum takeoff weight of 85.82 tons. The p-8a is equipped with two jet engines, with a maximum speed of 907 kilometers per hour, a cruise speed of 815 kilometers, a combat radius of 2222 kilometers and a maximum flight altitude of 12500 meters. In terms of electronic warfare, p-8a is equipped with apy-10 multifunctional radar developed by Raytheon company, which can realize sea / land target imaging at a long distance. The aircraft can fly for 4 hours when performing anti submarine missions. The photoelectric and infrared imaging sensors installed on the aircraft can detect the image information and heat source with high resolution within tens of kilometers, so as to detect the submarine in time. In terms of weapon carrying, the p-8a has five built-in weapon compartments and six external weapon mounting points, which can carry "harpoon" anti-ship missiles, mk-54 torpedoes and other weapons. The fuselage is loaded with more than 100 sonar buoys that can detect submarines to capture the movements of submarines in the water. It is reported that the South Korean Navy also plans to assemble lrasm anti-ship missiles for the p-8a before 2024. U.S. media believe that South Korea is one of the closest allies of the United States in the Indian Pacific region. The commonality of equipment between the two countries helps both sides carry out joint maritime operations and provides support for U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives. It is reported that the introduction and deployment of p-8a by South Korea aims to expand the reconnaissance scope and improve the reconnaissance efficiency. It is mainly used for maritime patrol, reconnaissance and anti submarine warfare, which can enhance the ability to deal with North Korean submarines and submarine launched ballistic missiles. The analysis shows that South Korea's high-cost introduction of p-8a may also be used to deal with the "Dokdo" dispute. Therefore, at that time, it may stimulate North Korea and Japan and aggravate the surrounding unrest. (outlook new era)
