Half a century ago, the two countries officially established diplomatic relations, opening a new era of China Peru friendship. Peru became one of the first Latin American countries to establish diplomatic relations with the people's Republic of China. Although China and Peru are separated by vast oceans, the friendship between the two countries has a long history. As early as the middle of the 16th century, the two peoples crossed the vast Pacific Ocean and left the mark of civilization blending in the historical process. In the middle of the 19th century, early Chinese immigrants arrived in Peru and made important contributions to the development of Peru. Today, more than 10% of the Peruvian population is of Chinese descent. Peruvians refer to Chinese restaurants with the homonym of "eat" in Cantonese and call Chinese friends with the Spanish word "Hometown", reflecting the sincere friendship of the Chinese and Peruvian people. Since the signing of the cultural cooperation agreement in 1986, cultural exchanges between China and Peru have been closer and closer, and the two peoples' understanding of each other's culture has been deepened day by day. Peru's splendid Inca civilization, Machu Picchu ruins and NASCAR paintings have attracted many Chinese tourists. More and more Peruvian students and friends from all walks of life come to China to study and train, experience China's development and become envoys to spread the friendship between the two countries. Four Confucius Institutes have been opened in Peru, and the "Chinese fever" and "China fever" are heating up. Novel coronavirus pneumonia has stand together through storm and stress since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia. China was the first country to provide anti epidemic assistance to Peru. At a critical juncture when Peru is in urgent need of vaccines, China timely extended a helping hand and was the first to supply vaccines to the secret recipe, making an important contribution to protecting the lives and health of the country's medical staff and people and ensuring the implementation of the country's vaccination plan. Friends from all walks of life in Peru are deeply grateful for this. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the opening year of the 14th five year plan.
